I am going to start this blog up again 6 months of nothing.  I was very discouraged about the blog.  It took me so long to do a posting and getting pictures on the blog was all messed up.  Then my daughter showed me I had over 1,500 hits on the blog from all over the world so it got me interested in it again.  My daughter left this week for Boston (very sad and lonely here) but we are going have s blog between us as another way to keep in touch.  I don't know quite how that one is going to evolve but will keep you posted and provide links.  First I spent this summer in New England again.  Bought more yarn than I will ever have time for .Started the summer at the Maine Fiber Frolic at the Windsor Fair Grounds the first weekend in June.  This is always a great event.  String Theory a small hand dyed yarn store in Blue Hill Maine was there.  I just love their yarn.  The colors are beautiful and yarn so soft.  I made 2 turtle necks out of their caper sock yarn which is 80 percent wool,10 percent cashmere and 10% nylon.  I used the knitting pattern for the turtleneck in Knit bot essentials by Hannah Fettig. They came out beautiful.  I still have to wash and block them. I also used the Caper Sock Yarn to make 2 beautiful scarves/shawls. I used the 3S shawl pattern by Amy A. Meade a free Ravelry download.  This is a great travel pattern-used on trains, planes, and the beach.
Also did a lot reading this summer but I am only going to mention a few that stand out.
"Love Anthony"by Lisa Genova I did not have high hopes for this book when I started it.  Thought it was going to be a light weight chicklit beach book.  It was sorta that way but really moved me because the Anthony in the story really got to me because he has autism as does my son.  The author really did her research and got into the mind of a autistic kid.  It was set on Nantucet during the off season and concerned 2 moms and how this boy affected their lives.
Another good book was "The Interestings" by Meg Holititzer.  This is big book spanning about40 years about 4 kids who meet at camp when they are teenagers and what happens in their lives.
The third book I 'm going to mention is "The Woman Upstairs"by Claire Messud. This is set in Boston.  The main character is a middle-aged 3rd grade teacher who has always wanted to take her creative side further but never had the nerve is seduced by the artistica nd glamorous family of one her students All books avaliable on amazon.com

pictures will follow great to be back  Peace.
