new blog before east coast visit

I promised myself I would restart this blog again,so here goes;I have start a new vest-"Point of view" by Hannah Fetig in her book Knitbot Essentials. This vest is shorter in the back than the front and is Quince& Company Sparrow a 100% linen yarn.  This is beautiful yarn but I am knitting it on #1 needles so it is very slow going. The colorway is little Fern .

I also started the Boneyard Shawl by Steven West .  I have made this pattern a couple of times before.  It is a great pattern for traveling.  The yarn is a beautiful Madeline-tosh fingering yarn that I've had for several years but I wanted a special project, but I just decided I wanted a beautiful scarf and why not use this yarn.  At this point i have more yarn than I can use in this lifetime so why not use the yarn I really love? Pattern is free on Ravelry

books:
The Snow Child by Eowy Ivey This is a very different book set in Alaska.  I wasn't sure if I would like it .Its not for everyone.Read about it on Amazon and see if it is for you.
2 other books i recently finished are: "The Husbands Secret"by Liane Moriarty and "The Silent Wife" by A.S.A. Harrison these books remind dme of "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn.  These books all involve a little mystery and are told in alternating views of the husband and wife.  If you are traveling and want something to read on a plane, train, or bus these are great.
