Reading What am I doing with my time?

I have not a post in about 3 weeks and I'd like to know what I  have been doing with my time.  I did finish one of my scarfs-the one done in String Theory yarn from Blue Hill Maine.  Some progress has been made on the other 2 scarves the Tea Leaf cardigan continues.  It seems like I spend a lot of time knitting but nothing is getting done.  I have been day dreaming about what knitting projects I want to bring to Maine.  Plane reservations have been made and going up there is not that far away.  My youngest son is graduating from high school in about a month and my life will under go a major change. The school year has always been my schedule.  My son has autism and this semester he has had to take a class at a local community college.  He has done really well and we are so proud of him .  On one test he got the highest grade in the class-not just among the kids from his private school but the WHOLE class. He will be attending community college in the fall but only taking 2 classes 2 days a week so it will free up a lot of time. When I think back to just a few years ago when we had all kinds of therapies to go to and people coming and going in our house all day it was quite a different world. Both of us are excited and nervous about the fall.  I know on  graduation day I will be a basket case.  I can cry just thinking about it now.Needless to say I have been doing a lot of reading.  Escapist reading?? I wonder? First "Defending Jacob" by William Laundry.  This is a NYT bestseller.  It takes place in Massachusetts.  A high school student is accused of killing a fellow student.  His father is the D.A.in this affluent town and how their lives change.  It has some unexpected twists and is pretty good read.  Next is "The Beginners Goodbye" by Anne Tyler.  This is another good story. It is set in Baltimore as usual for her and includes a lot of her usual quirky characters.  This book has gotten some mixed reviews but I enjoyed it."Red Heart in the Cold Blue Sea" by ? Morgan is up next.  I really liked this book.  It is written by a Maine author and is set in mid-coast Maine.  It is a nice coming of age story.  Nothing heavy duty just a nice story kinda like a Maeve Binchy book.  I also read "The Invisible Man" by W. Holister. I liked this book too. It is about a widower and his first couple of years after his wife who he loved died.  It is another nice story.  You get to know his stepchildren, people who fix him up with friends.  It is witty and not depressing at all. Right now I am reading "Catherine the Great" by Robert K. Massie.I have been on the list to get this book from the library for a couple of months.  So far it is a disappointment.I loved his other books about The Romanov's and Peter the Great but not this one.  I have a "thing" about the Russians and Russian history.  Maybe because I already know so much about her it is boring me. In between time when I have a few minutes I have been reading "Nine Stories" by J.D. Salinger I just love his writing.  I am gong to see if I can find some pictures I can put in this blog post.  Hope to have more knitting next time.Again all books are at Amazon.com
Peace
